I had a unique opportunity to go on BBC Radio Essex this evening and talk about Essex and Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT). I discussed the role of the service, the structure of the team and how it delivers advanced medical interventions at the roadside.
I was privileged to share the platform with Dave, whose daughter was treated by the service. Gavin, our service’s PR officer, was with us and gave a fabulous run down of the service’s history and the ongoing funding that is needed to support the organisation. Like all Air Ambulances, it is a charity funded by the people and it is designed for the people. Thank you BBC Radio Essex, Matt Mackay and his team.

It was an excellent opportunity for shared learning amongst friends and colleagues from around the U.K. Spent a fantastic afternoon teaching South East Coast Ambulance Service Critical Care Paramedics. The session was held at St George’s Hospital Medical School (London) and was part of their Masters Programme.
We discussed Orthopaedic emergencies and techniques in managing common fractures and dislocations. Thanks go to Lisa Burrell for organising this session. |
